The Oval Basket Crochet Pattern

It’s been a while since my last post, but the pandemic has rearranged a lot of things in our lives. I will be honest with you. During quarantine I made great plans for my work and the house and the kids and learning new things and improving my skills and exercising and leading a healthier life. And I really believed in myself and in these goals. I actually achieved some of them but in general I failed. It is so hard to be balanced and healthy as a stay at home mom especially during a pandemic, especially without support. I am still struggling, but kids going back to school gave me some me time and once again I promised myself to take full advantage of it.

While I was doing some scrapbooking and practicing my greek calligraphy skills, I had all my staff in my handmade oval basket (I can’t stand a messy desk). And that is when it hit me! This basket that I always keep near me while I work just to keep everything neat, could be your precious assistant too!

So, I’m sharing the pattern with you and promise you will have the handiest home accessory ever in less than an hour!

If you are interested in a kit version, please let me know and I will arrange it for you through my Etsy shop!

Enough said!

Let’s do it!

For this project you will need:

  • 5mm Cotton cord (approximately 200m / 218 yards).
  • Crochet Hook 6mm, 7mm or 8mm US sizes J, K or L, depending on how tight you want your basket to be. Just changing hooks gave me three different baskets.
  • Scissors.
